Programmme Overview
Caritas Zambia has acquired vast experience and skills in designing and implementing Economic Justice activities. Essentially, Economic Justice involves budget tracking and expenditure monitoring, social accountability among others. The programme intends to develop and market for broader use, a Budget Index.
The desire to transform difficult socio-economic conditions into better ones motivates the programme involvement in budgetary and advocacy for effective and pro poor implementation of government policies and programmes. The operational objectives:
Operational Objective 1:
To build capacity at community level in at least 5 Dioceses, to demand for accountability in utilisation of public funds by end of 2011,
Operational Objective 2
To contribute to the development and implementation of economic policies and reforms at local and international levels that is sensitive to the livelihoods of the poor by 2011
